The Greatest of All Time also known as The GOAT in Tamil, Telugu and GOAT in Hindi is only a day away from hitting theater screens worldwide. So much was buzzed about the genre and the story of the film, but close to the film's release, director Venkat Prabhu has clarified some aspects. A) The Greatest of All Time is a racy action thriller as shown in The GOAT trailer. B) The movie comes with quite a few 'surprises' in its screenplay. C) The GOAT is not a science fiction or time travel movie.
"There are many surprises as per the screenplay’s demand. We have really underplayed it..We don’t want to give out any plot points or surprises..Try not to read all the spoilers. I’m confident that the film will have repeat audience as it has a lot of layers. But, when you see it for the first time without knowing the script, it will elevate the experience." - The Greatest of All Time executive producer Archana Kalpathi to India Today.
Venkat Prabhu asserts in multiple interviews, "The GOAT has some sci-fi elements, but it’s not a sci-fi film like people are assuming because I have just made a sci-fi film (Maanaadu starring Silambarasan TR dealt with the concept of timeloop)...I wouldn’t immediately make another film in the same genre. I don’t know what made them think that way. If I did, people would say, ‘He just made a time loop film, so why is he making it again?’ The Greatest of All Time is a pure commercial film with a straight narrative. It has nothing to do with time travel."
An AGS Entertainment production, The Greatest of All Time also stars Prashanth, Prabhudeva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal Amir, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Parvati Nair, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, Yugendran Vasudevan, Akilan, among others. The film has cameos by YG Mahendran, late actor Vijayakanth via Artificial Intelligence (AI), actress Trisha (unconfirmed), and cricketer MS Dhoni (unconfirmed).
GOAT has been censored U/A and comes with a runtime of 3 hours 3 minutes and 21 seconds. The movie's technical crew includes Yuvan Shankar Raja for music, Siddhartha Nuni for cinematography, Dilip Subbarayan for action, and Venkat Raajen for edits.
