Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack features Kpop group Stray Kids

Deadpool & Wolverine starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the lead is an upcoming Marvel superhero movie, that is set for a worldwide release on July 26, 2024. The Hollywood film is produced by Marvel Studios, Ryan Reynolds' Maximum Effort, and director Shwan Levy's 21 Laps Entertainment (best known as producers of OTT series Stranger Things on Netflix).

Recently Deadpool & Wolverine's original soundtrack was unveiled, and the tracklist revealed a feature by the well known K-pop group Stray Kids. Stray Kids, an eight member boy group under JYP Entertainment (JYPE), appear on Marvel's Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack with a song titled Slash. The Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack will release on July 24, 2024.

Slash was teased by Stray Kids' Bang Chan and Felix earlier this month, when the Australian-Koreans shared a click with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on their group's official X page. Stray Kids and Ryan Reynolds go back to 2021, when during a competitive performance on a televised show named Kingdom: Legendary War, the K-pop group chose Deadpool as a concept.

Ryan Reynolds has since showed his unwavering love and support to Stray Kids, especially the group's 26 year old leader Bang Chan. Slash is the closest Stray Kids and Ryan Reynolds have come to a collaboration. Prior to this, Ryan Reynolds made an cameo appearance as a news anchor in the teaser of Stray Kids' new music video Chk Chk Boom, which releases July 19, 2024 (tomorrow).

Stray Kids also consisting of members Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Seungmin, and I.N, were formed in 2017 under JYPE, and group debuted in March 2018 post a reality survival show. On July 18, 2024, the South Korean entertainment company announced that all eight members of Stray Kids have officially renewed their contracts, ahead of its expiration in 2025.
