Maharaja starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead, is the actor's 50th movie which is all set to hit theater screens on June 14, 2024. Written and directed by Nithilan Saminathan of Kurangu Bommai (2017) fame, Maharaja revolves around a barber who seeks vengeance after his home is burglarized, telling police his 'Lakshmi' has been taken, leaving them uncertain if it's a person or object.

A new Maharaja release trailer (view above) adds to the story, as Vijay Sethupathi is seen telling the police that his daughter would be upset if she returns from camp and finds the 'Lakshmi' missing. Vijay Sethupathi is also seen bribing the police in lakhs, and leading them to a small crime nexus.  

Maharaja also stars Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, Natty Natraj, Bharathiraja, Abhirami, Singampuli, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Vinoth Sagar, Boys Manikandan, Kalki, Sachana Namidass, among others.
