Leo starring actor Vijay in the lead is an upcoming gangster action thriller that is all set to premiere in North America on October 18, 2023. Phars Films Co LLP is the overseas distributor of Leo, and Prathyangira Cinemas, AA Creations are presenting the film in USA and Canada. It has now been announced that in North America, Leo will be releasing in 999+ locations, which is the widest release for any Tamil movie in  the US and Canada. 

Leo premiere in North America will begin with IMAX/PLF shows at 6: 30 PM EST/ 5: 30 PM CST/4:30 PM MST/3:30 PM PST i.e. 4 AM on October 19, 2023 in IST. This will be followed by a standard show premiere at 8: 30 PM EST/ 7: 30 PM CST/6:30 PM MST/5:30 PM PST. 

Leo is based on a graphic novel titled A History of Violence (1997), which was also made into a Hollywood movie of the same name in 2005. The film's plot revolves around a café owner named Parthi who unexpectedly becomes local hero and receives national attention. When Parthi is visited by thugs and underworld mafia looking for one 'Leo Das', he vehemently protests to everyone that its a case of mistaken identity, but is eventually forced to drop his façade.

Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Leo also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, among others. The movie is touted to be part of director Lokesh's franchise coup known as the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe), and has Anirudh for music. Leo is a production venture of 7 Screen Studio.
