Recently we had reported about the buzz on Telugu director Gopichand Malineni directing Vijay on the actor's 68th project i.e. Thalapathy 68 [tentative title]. Vijay will begin this film immediately after his ongoing Leo with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, and word has it that the movie will be produced by not one but two production banners.

RB Chaudhary's Super Good Films which is a Kollywood production house is the frontrunner to bankroll Thalapathy 68. Actor Jithan Ramesh, RB Chaudhary's elder son has confirmed the same in the media recently when he stated, "there is a high chance that our Super Good Films will produce Thalapathy Vijay's next film. Currently, we are listening to stories, and if there is a role for me to join Vijay, I will definitely do it. Currently, everything is in the initial discussion stage."

Back in 2018, Vijay's Nanban co-star Jiiva and RB Chaudhary's younger son had stated. "Thalapathy Vijay met RB Chaudary last week and agreed to work on our company's prestigious 100th production venture. I have been asking my dad to give me a role in the film. I told him that I'd be happy to do the film without getting a remuneration."

Added to this, it is being said that renowned Tollywood production house Mythri Movie Makers might co-produce Thalapathy 68. Official announcements on the same however await. It is worth mentioning here that Thalapathy 68 was initially buzzed to be directed by Atlee, as a continuation of Vijay's cameo in Atlee's Bollywood debut Jawan. But the Atlee project is now expected to be made as Thalapathy 69, with Sun Pictures for production and Anirudh for music.
