Sarjun KM directed Burqa is an upcoming Tamil movie starring Kalaiyarasan, Mirnaa in the lead and the movie is all set for a direct OTT release on Aha Tamil tomorrow i.e. April 7, 2023. Burqa premiered in the film festival circuit before its digital premiere, and the movie is about how two strangers who happen to spend the night indulge in a dialogue-heavy exchange about religion and genders. 

Actress Mrinaa plays a character named Najma who is a young Muslim widow alone at home, observing Iddah or Iddat - the period of solitude following the death of one's husband. Kalaiyarasan plays a character named Suryah who comes knocking at her door seeking refuge, after he is chased for taking part in protests. 

Surya is injured badly and Najma a trained nurse helps him reluctantly. How these two's background stories unfold, leading to their conflicts of opinion and then finding common ground is what forms the rest of Burqa. The movie's trailer can be seen in the video above. 

Also starring Suriyanarayanan, GM Kumar among others, Burqaa is produced by E. Mohan and has screenplay by Anusuya Vasudevan. In addition to directing, Sarjun KM has also handled the story and dialogues of Burqa.
