On August 7, 2021, Meera Mithun of Bigg Boss fame had uploaded a video where she used used a term considered derogatory against scheduled caste in India. An FIR was booked last week against the model/actress under the SC/ST prevention of atrocities act.

In connection to the same, Meera Mithun was arrested by Central Crime Branch in Kerala today. Moments before the arrest, the actress had filmed and uploaded a video of her claiming that the cops are trying to harass her (while they are heard asking her to hand over the phone) and this video is now everywhere on social media. 

Meera Mithun's actions have always been controversial and her casteist outburst on August 7 came in light of her new complaint that a director from the Tamil film industry stole her photo and used it for a film's first-look poster. She also added that all 'SCs from the Tamil film industry' must be 'chucked' out.
