Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) Chief and actor Vijayakanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai Wednesday morning and initial reports suggested that the captain had suffered breathlessness. However an official statement from the DMDK quarters reads,

 

"DMDK Chief Vijayakanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for his routine health checkup. The hospital management has stated that currently Captain's health is stable. Capatain Vijaykanth will return home in 1 or 2 days once the treatment is over. Please do not believe in any false rumours."
