Thalapathy 65, actor Vijay's upcoming film with Sun Pictures and director Nelson Dhilipkumar has a new cast addition. Popular Malayalam movie actor Shine Tom Chacko will be making his Tamil debut with Thalapathy 65. Chacko is known for movies like  Ishq (2019), Unda (2019), Love (2020) and Ithihasa (2014) among others.

Team Thalapathy 65 are currently putting up a shopping mall set at Chennai, to begin their second schedule as soon as COVID-19 is no longer a hindrance. The movie's female lead Pooja Hegde who previously tested COVID-positive has now recovered and tested negative.
