Before the release of Sulthan in theaters this month, producer S.R. Prabhu had revealed that his film almost made it to the OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar for a direct premiere. However the movie was decided to be released in theaters and Sulthan is currently in its 3rd week of theatrical run.

At a time when theaters in Tamil Nadu are on the verge of a complete-shutdown, it has been revealed that Sulthan will be making its OTT premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar.

Though not officially announced, it is being said that the Karthi, Rashmika starrer will be available for streaming starting April 30, 2021 (Friday). Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, Sulthan is an action-drama that revolves around the hero's dilemma between his father's path of violence and his own passion.
