Movies during the holidays have always been well received and the Summer where a section of the Tamil film audience are enjoying a long break is the most lucrative of them all. Despite the scheduled State Assembly elections and COVID-19, quite a number of Tamil movies are coming out in Summer, 2021. 

The following films have confirmed their release dates and have reiterated that there will be no changes:

• Sulthan - April 2, 2021
• Karnan - April 9, 2021
• Thalaivi - April 23, 2021
• MGR Magan - April 23, 2021
• Doctor - May 13/14, 2021

On the other hand, these movies have been scheduled for a Summer, 2021 release but have not announced a release date yet:

• Laabam
• Thuglaq Durbar
• Maamanithan
• Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir
