Theater Owners and distributors in Tamil Nadu have reportedly reacted with disappointment to Master's early OTT premiere news. Master is all set to start streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Tamil and Telugu from January 29.

And since the film is still on its 16th day of theatrical run, theater owners and distributors have urged the makers to delay the OTT premiere. “We are conducting talks with the producer of the movie regarding the release on OTT platforms. We have requested him to delay the release", Thiruppur Subramaniam, president of Tamil Nadu theatre and multiplex owners association is quoted to have said. 

He was also quoted as saying, “We have also asked for other options from the producer. So, we are hopeful of reaching a conclusion and we will discuss this further on Thursday.”
