The mortal remains of S.P. Balasubrahmanyam was laid to rest at his farmhouse on the outskirts of Chennai today and the legendary playback singer was given a state funeral with police honours minutes before the cremation. SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away on September 25, 2020 at the age of 74; He died of a cardio-respiratory arrest.

The singer who has 41,000+ songs to his credit spanning a career of 50+ years, had been admitted at MGM Healthcare since August 5, 2020 after testing positive for coronavirus COVID-19. He tested negative for the virus on September 5, 2020 but continued to depend life support on and off since then.
