Ever since Gautham Menon's short film Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn became a talking point among Tamil netizens, it has been buzzed that things are moving swiftly for the sequel to Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (VTV) as a full length feature. Menon himself confirmed this in a recent interview when he stated that Vinnaithaandu Varuvaayaa 2 starring Simbu and Trisha will be shot as a movie soon. 

The director also gave out a major spoiler for VTV 2 while addressing the accusations that Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn encourages emotional infidelity. Menon stated that in the sequel to his cult romantic drama, Jessie has been living away from her husband 'Abraham Roy' for the past 6 months though she doesn't reveal the same to Karthik.

He also added that what one witnessed in Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn is just a minor scene from VTV 2 and when the audience get to witness the full movie, they will understand the impact (or no impact) of the said conversation. VTV 2 is expected to be produced by Ishari Ganesh of Vels Film International and will most likely see the reunion of Karthik, who is now a successful film-maker and his long-lost lover Jessie.
