Gautham Menon directed 2010 movie Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya (VTV) is a crowd-favourite and the popularity of his lead pair Karthik and Jessie (Simbu and Trisha) even to this date stands testament to the same. Recently, a short-film titled Karthik Dial Seiyatha Yenn (shot completely indoors) was released bringing back STR and Trisha as their iconic characters  and besides the accolades the movie has been receiving, there are some hilarious reactions from the audience as well. 

Karthik Dial Seiytha Yenn takes place years after Simbu and Trisha part ways in VTV and in the current COVID-19 lockdown scenario, Karthik is a successful director stuck in creativity and he decides to call Jessie, his former lover who is now in India with her husband Roy and twin children.

And Karthik's conversation with Trisha is what has evoked a flurry of funny tweets, some even referencing Trisha's another crowd favourite romance movie 96 and her former lover in that movie Ram (Vijay Sethupathi).
