The shooting of long-announced 'Maanaadu' finally went on floors in mid-February. The political thriller starring Simbu and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles is directed by Venkat Prabhu. The team is currently shooting a song sequence featuring STR, Kalyani and Anjena Kriti along with 200 dancers in a grand set erected at a theme park in Chennai. The song touted to be a peppy number composed by Yuvan is being choreographed by Raju Sundaram. 

STR will be seen playing a Muslin youngster named Abdul Khaaliq. SJ Suryah, Manoj, Premji Amaren, SA ChandraSekhar, Bharathi Raja, Daniel Pope play key roles in this movie produced by Suresh Kamatchi.
