Vikram's Kadaram Kondan which released last Friday (July 19) has witnessed a decent opening at the Chennai city box office. The film has piled up a collection of Rs. 1.57 Cr , thereby racing ahead of Hollywood’s mega release The Lion King, which has spanned Rs. 1.4Cr.

Here is the day wise break-up

• July 19 - Rs.52 Lakhs
• July 20 - Rs.54 Lakhs
• July 21 - Rs.51 Lakhs

Both these movies have been drawing good crowds to the theatres. While Kadaram Kondan is gaining it through good word of mouth publicity, The Lion King has always carried the attention of universal crowds across years. Especially, with big names like Arvind Swami, Siddarth, Aishwarya Rajesh, Robo Shankar, Manobala and Singam Puli dubbing in Tamil, it has turned to be additional attraction for the movie.
