There were reports surrounding singer Sid Sriram recently that he has been banned from working by the Cine Musicians Association, till the time he gets his membership registered with them. Amidst it all it is now being said that the singer who was launched by A.R. Rahman, will be making his debut as music composer soon in Tamil cinema. 

And just like his first song which featured in a Mani Ratnam movie (Kadal), Sid Sriram's music composition too will be for a Mani Ratnam film. The singer has supposedly replaced Govind Vasantha as the composer of Vaanam Kottatum, a Madras Talkies production-on-the-cards with Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Rajesh and Madonna Sebastin in the lead. 

The movie is a directorial venture of Mani Ratnam's former associate Dhanasekharan and is expected to go on floors soon. Mani Ratnam has co-written the film and it is also expected to star Radhika Sarathkumar in an important role.
