Two Starks - Tony Stark from Avengers: End Game & GOT's Arya Stark are talk of the town; Here's Why

It was a significant week for the loyal fan-base of Marvel's Avenger Series and HBO's Game of Thrones series. On one hand, MCU fans were awaiting the release of their ultimate Avengers movie which like its title suggested was the 'End Game' to a 11 year story arc. And Tony Stark aka Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr.) emerged as the talking point of the movie post its release on April 26, 2019.

On the other hand, Games of Thrones which is currently in its final season aired its most eventful episode of 'The Long Night' on April 29, 2019, which showcased the dreaded Battle of Winterfell against the Night King which was being built up since 2011. Surprisingly Arya Stark grabbed all the attention for this one and the discussion further CONTAINS SPOILERS for those who have not watched the episode in question or Avengers: End Game yet.

The Avengers: End Game movie sees Tony Stark inventing time travel, a suit to absorb the powers of Infinity stones in the post Infinity War era and taking down the villain Thanos by sacrificing his own life. In Game of Thrones' latest episode, Arya Stark gets into an almost lost battle with the Night King before skillfully stabbing him in the belly.

Both these situations had Starks making use of their best of abilities and put an end to powerful villains who threatened to wipe lives off and interestingly both these features were lengthier than usual (GOT Episode was 82 minutes long and the End Game movie 3 hours).

Similarities like these is what is having loyal fandom of both franchises draw parallels between the Starks, with whom they share an emotional connect built over the years. While people view Arya's whole ordeal of 'revenge' to being personal, Tony on the other hand comes across as a saviour of the world, like he has always been these past 10 years.

However, they also believe that Arya's evolution from being an underdog to comparatively surviving on minimum trumps Tony's exorbitant inheritance and his access to a world of knowledge right from childhood. It is also believed that while Arya is in no way responsible for the Night Kings' doom on the Westeros, Tony Stark may have indirectly contributed to the weakend team-work against Thanos by indulging in the Civil war.

Nevertheless, the evolution of both these characters - Tony Stark from a selfish industrialist to a selfless hero and Arya stark from a innocent young girl to one of the the most ruthless warriors there was, has left a massive impact on the audience. While Tony Stark died and Arya Stark almost did (at-least that's what the viewers believed when the Night King held her by the neck), their part in concluding their respective world's stories continues to live.
