Gautham Menon's web-series on Jayalalithaa titled Queen?

There has been quite a frenzy over the biopic on the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J. Jayalalithaa and in addition to the three films by directors A Priyadhaarshini, A.L. Vijay and Bharathiraja, there is also a web-series in the making, the episodes of which are directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. 


News of this web-series first broke in August, 2018 and ever since it has been reported that actress Ramya Krishnan will be seen playing Jayalalitha and Malayalam actor Indrajith Sukumaran will be seen playing MGR. Recently, it has been reported that Indrajith has wrapped his shooting portions for the 30-episode series, which has tentatively been titled Queen.

Queen is expected to chronicle Jayalalithaa's rise from an actress to one of the most powerful political leaders in Tamil Nadu. Official announcements on the series are expected to follow soon.
