C/O Kancharapalem wins the National Awards debate, Producer requests Govt for Permanent Amendments!

One of 2018's better movies of Telugu cinema was C/O Kancharapalem, which brought about a new wave with its intimate portrayal of a small-town life. The movie was under media attention last week for it was rejected from getting nominated for the National Awards, because it was produced byPraveena Paruchuri, a US citizen of Indian origin.

@DFF_India your eligibility and submission criteria are illogical. Even @RanaDaggubati or @SureshProdns being the Presenters of our film can not apply?! #Annoyed #Disappointed . Why @makeinindia ?

Praveena though bummed about disappointing her director, had tweeted out her thoughts to the Chief Minister of Telengana and Andhra Pradesh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following this Telengana minister KTR, forwarded the issue to the I&B ministers who then came up with possible options fro Praveena to get her film nominated.

Now, C/O Kancharapalem is back in the National Awards race, with the producer requesting the government to bring rules regarding NRI producers under permanent amendments to avoid such confusions in the future.
