Actor Vishal arrested for trying to break open TFPC office!

In a dramatic move, Chennai Police on Thursday detained actor and Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council (TFPC) president Vishal along with a few other incumbent TFPC members after they tried to break open the lock of TFPC office at T-Nagar.

Vishal's action comes after 200 film producers lead by A.L. Azhagappan and T.Siva locked the TFPC buildings at T Nagar and Anna Salai and handed over the keys to the nearest police station yesterday.

Apparently this was done to demand the resignation of Vishal (President), Gautham Menon (vice-president) and Prakash Raj (vice-president) over misappropriation of TFPC funds and violation of council by-laws. They has also demanded that a fresh round of TFPC elections be held immediately instead of March, 2019.

Earlier today, Vishal and his supporters had a long stand-off with the police stationed outside the T-nagar office building and they are said to have called the police intervention as 'criminal trespassing'.

Post detention, Vishal, Mansoor Ali Khan and a few others were taken to the Teynampet Police Station, while Vishal said, "I have not done any mistake. They are not allowing me to go inside my office. If we ask questions they are arresting us. This is unbelievable,"
