Vikram, Mani Ratnam to team up for Ponniyin Selvan adaptation?

 

A while ago, rumours were rife that director Mani Ratnam, who tasted success this year with Chekka Chivantha Vaanam plans to revive his dream project, which is the onscreen adaptation of Tamil novel Ponniyin Selvan. It was also said that several leading actors will be cast in this film, though no official confirmations followed. 

Now, this ambitious project is back in the news and reportedly actor Vikram (whose name was in the earlier considerations too) has come on board. It is worth mentioning here that Vikram is currently shooting for Kadaram Kondan and plans to begin the mega-budgeted Mahavir Karna with director RS Vimal in 2019. 

Mani Ratnam on the other hand is co-writing and producing his associate Dhana Shekaran's upcoming film.
