Post the highly publicized happenings around Sarkar's story, director of the film A.R. Murugadoss has issued his official statement through his twitter page. Titling his video message 'stop the rumours', A.R. Murugadoss has said,
"As usual a lot of rumours have been spreading left, right and centre. A small clarification about that. Honourable Mr. K. Bhagyaraj had called me and said that there is an issue like this..'someone's vote has been misused' - this concept/ spark has been (registered) 10 years back by him (Varun Rajendran). Other than this there is no connection between this story (Sarkar) and that story (Sengol).
But because an assistant director has registered it before us, he (Bhagyaraj) asked me to mention a card praising him (Varun Rajendran) as an encouragement at the beginning of the film. I have agreed to this...
(Details of how Varun willl be credited in the title card here)
Other than that, this film's story, screenplay, dialogues and direction is by A.R. Murugadoss. There is no kind of change in that. Happy Deepavali. Enjoy"
Earlier Murugadoss was seen taking an issue with Bhagyaraj's request and the two even indulged in a war of words over the issue. However, the matter was resolved amicably at court today and Sarkar will now hit theater screens as planned on November 6, 2018. Watch A.R. Murugadoss' video and his letter in Tamil below:
