Gautham Menon confirms film with Suriya, says VTV 2 will be with Simbu and not Madhavan!

 

In a recent video interview that is being shared widely on the internet, director Gautham Vasudev Menon is seen speaking about and taking questions from industry contemporaries about the projects he has in line. During this conversation, he reveals that a film can be expected from him and actor Suriya, that he plans to begin by 2019. Answering a question from Manjima Mohan, Menon went on to say,

“We (Suriya and him) have been talking and it (the possibility of a collaboration) is looking good. You know he is doing Selvaraghavan sir’s film and then KV Anand's film. Next year (2019) we will do a film together."

At one point, Menon was also seen speaking about one of his most successful films, Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya and its sequel. Clarifying that there is no beef between him and Simbu (STR) anymore, Gautham Menon revealed how changed his idea of making VTV 2 with Madhavan and three other heroes to making it with only Simbu. 

"Simbu wanted to do an action film with me. But I went to him with a story of friendship, love story and an extension of VTV's main character with three other heroes. Simbu wanted to do a solo film which I understood and at that time Madhavan said ok. But we didn't take the project forward because it did not fall through..Madhavan too got bust with other projects...Now, I've taken the script from a different perspective and Simbu has said ok to it."  

Menon also took a question on directing Ilayathalapathy Vijay with whom he was supposed to do Yohan Adhyayam Ondru but project never took off. Menon said that if he gets to work with Vijay, it will be a romantic entertainer and not a cop story.
