Gautham Menon's romantic musical Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya popularly known as VTV which released in 2010 is one of the most loved romantic films of all times. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the film's sequel for a long time. After 8 years, GVM surprises his fans by announcing VTV sequel.

Gautham Menon in an recent interview opened up on his plans for VTV sequel. The film will be a multi-starrer. Madhavan will reprise the role of Karthik played by Simbu originally. Madhavan and Gautham Menon are coming together for the second time after 2001's Minnale.

There are four heroes in the film. Kannada actor Punith Rajkumar, Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas are part of the cast. One hero from Telugu will also be part of cast. The director is currently in talks with Telugu actors and nothing has been firmed up yet.

The film is about the journey of Karthik and his 3 friends who hail from different states (Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Trivandrum). The film starts off with the life of Karthik after 8 years.

AR Rahman will be scoring the music.
