Kaala Teaser Review: When Kabali's fearlessness meets Baashha's swag

All that Superstar Rajinikanth needs to come into his own in a movie is a screenplay that challenges and pushes him to effectively carry his larger-than-life image. With Kaala, Pa Ranjith has yet again given Rajinikanth a platform to unleash his ferocity.

Kaala teaser showcases a glimpse of what to expect from the film. Similar to Kabali, Kaala also deals with oppression and how a leader redeems the rights of the land and its people. However, the treatment of Kaala seems to be strikingly different from that of Kabali. The ever-brilliant Nana Patekar makes a powerful impact with his nonchalant dialogue delivery and Samuthirakani’s voice-over gels well with the introduction of the ‘Kaala’ character.

Rajinikanth’s looks in the film reminds us of the vintage Baashha, which is still considered as one of the best films of Superstar. It is astonishing to see him living up with the same energy level even after 23 years. Dressed in black throughout the teaser, Superstar oozes charisma and style in every frame. Once the movie releases, expect this full-black attire to become a rage among youngsters.

To top it all, Rajinikanth’s dialogue “Kya re, setting eh? Vengaiyan mavan oththaila nikkan, dhill irundha mothama vangale” is sure to set the screens on fire. Superstar’s effervescent mannerism makes the dialogue even more whistle-worthy.

Kaala is going to scorch the silver screen from April 27. Are you ready to handle the heat?
