Simbu gears up for Mani Ratnam's action thriller, Red card loom finally passes

In case you missed, a while ago actor Simbu was facing a red card threat from the Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council with regards to the complaint filed by Michael Rayappan, producer of Simbu's last venture Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan. This had led to speculations of whether or not STR would be able to go ahead with the Mani Ratnam project he had signed. However, a recent image of the actor-director duo has emerged online which has put all such talks to rest.

The image is apparently from the day one of the acting workshop that Simbu attended for Mani Ratnam's upcoming film. He is also said to have sought Mani's blessings for his debut musical venture Sakka Podu Podu Raja which is due to hit theatre screens on December 22, 2017. Simbu will be seen sharing screen-space with Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Arvind Swamy, Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh in this multi-starrer which will be officially launched in January 2018 and will start rolling from February that year.

Touted to be an action-thriller, the film will have music by A.R. Rahman and cinematography by Santhosh Sivan. According to reports, this yet untitled project will see Aravind Swamy, Fahadh Faasil and Simbu play sons of actors Prakash Raj and Jayasudha with Vijay Sethupathi to be seen in the role of a cop.
