Saithaan - First week box office collection

Inspite of facing issues during and post release (demonetisation, weather threats, demise of the Chief Minister), actor Vijay Antony's psychological thriller film Saithaan has managed to collect a fair amount at the box-office. In an update made by Auraa Cinemas which released the movie in Tamil Nadu, the movie has made Rs 11.75 crores after the first 5 days of its opening. Made at a budget of Rs 10 crores, the movie has already crossed its profit limit with this box-office census. Currently in the second week of screening, Saithaan is expected to keep adding to the profit table. Originally produced by Vijay Antony Film Corporation, the movie received mixed critical reviews and has managed to lure audience into the theatre screens. Semi inspired from Sujatha Rangarajan's Tamil novel Aah, the movie was released on December 1, 2016.
