The makers of Drones have unveiled first-look posters for two of the film's key cast members on consecutive days. Dravid Selvam plays a character named Kisha, with the makers teasing that "the man who has made audiences laugh through countless memorable performances now takes flight in Drones." Anjali Nair, meanwhile, plays a character called Rush, with her poster captioned "When madness meets magic!" — hinting at her role in what the makers describe as "a surreal film with mind-bending fun packed with mystery and chaotic twists."

Dravid, known for Parithabangal's sketch comedy and films like Dude and Idhayam Murali, brings his comic sensibility to a new space. Anjali Nair is best remembered as the police officer in Taanakkaran.
