Suriya's Karuppu has crossed Rs 175 crore gross at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing film of his career, surpassing the record previously held by Retro. The RJ Balaji directorial has now collected Rs 105.35 crore net worldwide, with Wednesday alone adding Rs 11.96 crore to the tally despite the expected weekday dip.

The milestone is particularly striking given the mixed critical reception the film has received. Audience enthusiasm, driven in no small part by Sai Abhyankkar's music especially the widely celebrated Karuppa, has kept the momentum going strong.
