Karthi’s Pongal release Vaa Vaathiyaar is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video starting January 28, 2026 — only 14 days after its theatrical debut. 

The film opened in theatres on January 14, 2026 (Pongal day) and will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi on the platform.

Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, the action-comedy features Karthi as DSP Rameshwaran, a corrupt yet idealistic cop raised believing he’s the reincarnation of MGR by his grandfather (Rajkiran). Krithi Shetty is the female lead, with supporting roles by Sathyaraj, Anandaraj, and others.

Produced by Studio Green (K.E. Gnanavel Raja) and featuring music by Santhosh Narayanan, the movie overcame several financial and legal delays before its Pongal launch.

Despite mixed reviews highlighting Karthi’s performance but pointing out pacing issues, the super-short 14-day window to OTT. Catch the film in multiple languages on Prime Video from January 28!
