The teaser of actor Ravi Mohan’s 34th film, Karathey Babu, is out and it offers an intriguing peek into a politically driven narrative.

Set inside the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, the teaser features Nasser as the sitting Chief Minister, who highlights the politics behind the name of Ravi Mohan’s character. Ravi plays an opposition party MLA from Tamil Nadu, Shanmuga Babu, formerly known as “Karate Babu” — a name given to him by the people of RK Nagar, hinting at the film’s core conflict around identity and power.

Written and directed by Dada (2023) fame Ganesh K Babu, the film stars Daudee Jiwal as the female lead. The technical team includes Sam CS (music), Ezhil Arasu K (cinematography), Kathiresh Alagesan (editing), Shanmugaraja (production design), Dhilip Subbarayan (action), Sathish Krishnan (choreography), and Gayathri Balasubramanian (costume design).

Karathey Babu is scheduled for a Summer 2026 release.
