The cast and crew of Vaa Vaathiyaar have commenced their final patch shoot, marking the beginning of what’s expected to be an intense, week-long schedule. The team is pulling out all the stops as they gear up to deliver the film on time for its December 5, 2025 theatrical release.

Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy (known for Soodhu Kavvum and Kaadhalum Kadandhu Pogum), Vaa Vaathiyaar is shaping up to be an action-comedy with a soulful tribute to the late actor-politician M.G. Ramachandran. The title itself — “Vaathiyaar” — harkens back to MGR’s legacy, referencing his iconic song “Vaangaiya Vaathiyaar Ayya” from the classic Nam Nadu (1969).

In the film, Karthi plays the lead role of Rameshwaram, a fun-loving police inspector. Alongside him, Krithi Shetty headlines the female cast, while Sathyaraj takes on the formidable role of antagonist. The movie also features Karunakaran as a fellow cop, with Anand Raj and other supporting actors rounding out the ensemble.
