Tamil film actor turned politician Vijay, and star actor Sivakarthikeyan were among the Tamil film celebrities who expressed praise for the Indian Army, post the Operation Sindoor counterattack measures, in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack, that claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians.

Operation Sindoor named after the red vermillion Indian women use on their forehead, was carried out as an overnight air strike between 1:05 AM to 1:30 AM on May 7, 2025. For a time of 25 minutes, the Indian Army in joint collaboration with the Indian Air Force, and the Indian Navy, unleashed a total of 24 missiles, targetting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
At a press briefing in New Delhi at 10 AM on Wednesday, the Indian Army confirmed that 70 terrorists were killed, and over 60 sustained injuries. India exercised its right to respond, and the measures did not target Pakistani military bases, said Vikram Misri, Foreign Secretary of India.
Terror camps where infamous names like Ajmal Kasab, and Daniel Headley were trained have been taken down with Operation Sindoor, said Colonel Sophia Qureshi during the press briefing. The Pakistan in retaliation opened fire, and arbitrary shelling in a ceasefire region, the Indian Army said.
10 civilians including a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector during the Pakistani strike on May 7, 2025.
