A prequel to the 2019 photo-realistic digital remake of the animation classic The Lion King (1994), Mufasa: The Lion King released in theaters in December 2024. Helmed by director Barry Jenkins, Mufasa: The Lion is now all set for a digital premiere. 

Mufasa: The Lion King's OTT release date is March 26, 2025, and the movie will be available to stream in JioHotstar in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Mufasa: The Lion King tells the story of how lost cub Mufasa, befriends the lion Taka after being separated from his parents, and the two embark on a journey that eventually threatens their familial bond as King Mufasa and his adoptive brother Scar.
