Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi among others is a biopic war drama on late Indian army Major Mukund Varadarajan AC (P). The movie opened to a phenomenal Diwali weekend at the box-office. Currently Amaran is on day 7 of its theatrical run, and has surprisingly held well despite the last 3 days being weekdays. 

This year not too many Tamil movies have had a great box-office run. 2024 particularly was witness to Tamil films struggling during the weekdays, post the opening weekend. The Greatest of All Time starring Vijay was the only exception, and now Sivakarthikeyan's Amaran has been holding well with its weekday run.    

A production venture of Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, and Sony Pictures International Production, Amaran was released in Tamil Nadu by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. The film is written and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, and has GV Prakash Kumar for music.
