Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan in the lead is a vigilante action drama that released in theaters on July 12, 2024. The movie produced by Lyca Productions, Red Giant Movies has entered week 2 of its theatrical run. At this time, Indian 2's digital premiere plans are doing the rounds.

Post its theatrical run, Indian 2 directed by Shankar will stream on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu (as Bharateeyudu 2), and Hindi (as Hindustaani 2) languages with English subtitles. Indian 2's OTT release is expected in August, 2024 i.e. next month. 

The second installment in director Shankar's Indian franchise, Indian 2 is set 28 years after the events of the first film where ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante Senapathy, has left the country to live under the radar in Taiwan. Senapathy's return to India, his round 2 with anti-corruption policies, and what lays ahead in Indian 3 is what has been showcased in Indian 2. 

Anirudh Ravichander has composed music for Indian 2 which also stars Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, SJ Suryah among others.
