Silambarasan TR starrer Pathu Thala is an upcoming action drama thriller that is all set to release in theaters tomorrow i.e. March 30, 2023 [Thursday]. Here are 5 reasons to watch the movie on the big screens: 

• Story: Even before the Kannada film industry achieved national spotlight with the success of movies like KGF (2018, 2022) and Kanatara (2022), a 2017 release titled Mufti was making waves beyond its target demographic. So much so that Mufti's writer, director Narthan was originally roped to make Pathu Thala - an official Tamil remake. Even though the project has changed its tone and director ever since, Mufti's core story of a game between an undercover cop and a feared don is still the essence of Pathu Thala. 

• Silambarasan TR: The actor has definitely been maintaining his A-game since Maanaadu in 2021. Pathu Thala comes on the heels of two successful films - Maanaadu (2021) and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu (2022) and looks promising of a hattrick for the star. 

• AR Rahman: After a phenomenal 2022, AR Rahman's first Tamil release of the year has already proven to be a hit album. Would be interesting to watch the viral numbers play out on screen, and what other value adds the composer has in store for Pathu Thala. 

• Other Main Cast: Besides Silambarasan TR, Pathu Thala also has Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Gautham Menon as a part of the main cast. Interestingly, all these actors' characters have their own one-off with Silambarasan's character AGR in the movie. All of these combos - Silambarasan - Gautham Karthik, STR-Priya Bhavani Shankar and Simbu-Gautham Menon (the actor, not director) have been paired for the first time with Pathu Thala. 

• Obeli N Krishna: The director though famous for co-directing Kaakha Kaakha (2003) and directing Sillunu Oru Kaadhal (2006), has been missing from the Tamil scene for many years now. Pathu Thala for which he has written screenplay besides directing it, is Krishna's first appeal to the Gen Z Tamil audience.
