Actor, filmmaker Pratap Pothen who has predominantly appeared in Malayalam and Tamil films passed away on Friday i.e. July 15, 2022. The 69-year-old was found dead in his apartment located on Kilpauk Garden Road, Chennai and cause of his death has been declared to be heart attack.

Prathap Pothen who has over a 100 films to his credit in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages was last seen onscreen this year in the Mammootty starrer CBI 5: The Brain. In Tamil,  he was seen in a cameo last year in Vijay Sethupathi's Tughlaq Durbar. 

The actor has three Malayalam movies that are pending releases, one of which is the Mohanlal starrer high budget movie Barroz.

I had seen his erstwhile movie " Thakera" in which he plays a mentally challenged role with finesse. A polished gentlemen with oodles of talent.
