American Novelist Mark Greaney's 2007 book The Gray Man is finally getting an on-screen adaptation on Netflix, and the movie directed by Antony and Joe Russo of Avengers fame stars India's very own Dhanush, in the role of Avik San. While Dhanush's screen-time as Avik maybe brief, early reviews of the movie suggest that he does standout among other supporting characters.

Those who caught an early screening of the movie also have revealed that while Ryan Gosling as The Gray Man takes out everyone on a one-on-one combat, Avik is the only character he isn't able to overcome in the same. Fans who feared Dhanush's character dying in the movie, also breathed a sigh of relief since the Russo brothers have not given a definitive ending to Avik. [Infact the filmmakers have said that they would be open for a solo spin-off on Avik if the viewers end up liking the character].

Avik San was described as a 'lethal force' in his character poster for The Gray Man. He seems to be one of the characters after Sierra Six (Ryan Gosling) in the movie and as a result has taken Ana De Armas (who is on Gosling's side) in a combative action scene as well. The Gray Man also starring Chris Evans, Rege Jean Page, Julia Butters makes it OTT premiere on July 22, 2022.
