Director Vasanthabalan was more than just a friend of the late Na. Muthukumar. Not only did both names from the Tamil film industry share a deep friendship for over 25 years, they shared the same birthday and were also there for each other through ups and downs.

Vasanthabalan's upcoming film pays an ode to his late friend through a character who is ardent fan of Na. Muthukumar. While looking for lyricists for this upcoming movie, Vasantha Balan shared his plans of archiving Na. Muthukumar's work so that his surviving family gets to reap optimum royalties.

He told DT Next, “He has written over 10,000 songs which are now in a godown. It is high time that we archive them and plans are on. We can use it as a music bank in the future.”
