Three years ago, Baahubali director S.S. Rajamouli's son Karthikeya had launched a movie titled Aakashvani which had piqued the interest of many. The movie starred Samuthirakani in the lead and was a directorial venture of Rajamouli's former assistant Ashwin Gangaraju.

However Karthikeya opted out of the project last year due to creative differences and the film's production was taken over by A Padmanabha Reddy of AU&I Studios. Had it not been for COVID, the movie would have released in theaters today i.e. June 4, 2021. 

Updating on the movie's release, debut director Ashwin Gangaraju shared, 

Aakashvani has music by Baahubali composer MM Keeravani's son Kaala Bhairava. The technical crew also includes Suresh Raghutu for cinematography and Sreekar Prasad for edits.
