Veteran filmmaker and actor K. Bhagyaraj and his actress-wife Poornima Bhagyaraj have tested positive for Coronavirus COVID-19. The family including Bhagyaraj's actor-son Shantanu have home-quarantined themselves.

The Tamil film fraternity was seen wishing the family a speedy recovery. Tamil Nadu state government's new set of COVID-restrictions came into force from 4 AM on May 6 and other than essential services, all others public outlets remain closed. 

People are strictly advised to stay indoors, wear masks and get vaccinated while maintaining sanitization and social distancing.
