Popular comedy cum character actor Vivek unexpectedly suffered a cardiac arrest on Friday and is currently on ECMO support in a hospital at Chennai. The 59-year-old fainted after expressing discomfort and his family rushed him to the SIMS Hospital at Vadapalani.

A senior doctor from the hospital told the media that they are working on reviving Vivek's heart and lungs. The doctor has also told stated that they do not suspect any connection between the COVID-19 vaccination Vivek received on Thursday, and his current health collapse.

However speculations among netizens about the heart-attack being a 'side-effect' of the vaccine had become so loud that actor, politician Khushboo had to step in and remind people to let the doctors do their jobs.
