Recently, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan took to his twitter to quote tweet his NGO Meer Foundation's story where he wrote, “Thank you all for getting us in touch with the little one. We all pray he finds strength to deal with the most unfortunate loss of a parent. I know how it feels...Our love and support is with you baby.” The NGO's tweet on the other hand read,
#MeerFoundation is thankful to all who helped us reach this child, whose heart wrenching video of trying to wake his mother disturbed all. We are now supporting him and he is under his grandfather’s care. pic.twitter.com/NUQnXgAKGT— Meer Foundation (@MeerFoundation) June 1, 2020
The back story to this is a viral video from Muzaffarpur railway station, which showed a two-and-a-half year old toddler pulling on his dead mother on May 25, 2020 and was dubbed one of the multiple dreadful examples of the migrant exodus crisis, India is facing during Coronavirus COVID-19 lockdown.
While the Patna High Court took suo motu cognizance of the incident that week, no complete facts about the deceased's death had come to light. SRK's NGO Meer Foundation swiftly got into action and reunited the kid with his grandparents, while the case in Patna is scheduled for its next hearing on June 3 i.e. today.
