Money Heist - Tamil Actors Version: Vijay As Professor, Ajith as Berlin, Simran as Inspector Raquel!

One of the popular trends on social media, which has especially seen a rise in the lockdown period, is netizens coming up with ‘Indian actors as Money Heist characters’ thread. And in case you didn’t already know, Money Heist is a popular Netflix series and is the English-dubbed version of the Spanish heist series La Casa De Papel.

 

Four Seasons of Money Heist are currently available on Netflix and the Indian audience like the rest of world is has become attached to the city-named characters of the show. Keeping with the trend, here we have imagined which of the Kollywood aka Tamil movie actors would suit best for the roles from the show.

 

 

1. The Professor - Vijay

Sergio aka The Professor is the master-mind behind a big plan, with an explosive brain yet subtle demeanour,. This is very similar to Thuppakki Jagdish and Joseph Kuruvila of Theri who bore similar characteristics, making Vijay our ultimate choice for this role.

 

2. Berlin - Ajith 

Berlin has attitude, he has charisma, he is authoritative, a true leader and better yet a commander who can be in-charge. And with a touch of class in everything he does, we couldn’t think of someone better than Ajith to pull off this role. Also the very idea of Ajith playing Vijay’s on-screen brother is a coup that entices their fans.

 

 

 

3. Tokyo - Amala Paul

A true-blue tom-boy with over-flowing passion, Tokyo is the trouble-maker of this scene and given that Amala Paul has played such a character before, we think she is the perfect fit for this.

 

 

4. Nairobi - Radhika Apte

More mature and emotional yet as stubborn as Tokyo, Nairobi doesn’t loose sight of her purpose neither does she let anyone mistreat her. Radhika Apte was not just characteristically but even physically close to this role.

 

5. Rio - Siddharth

A computer genius who is also a good looking, sensitive lover-boy – we believe Siddharth would suit this role to the T.

 

6. Denver - Bharath 

Denver is that criminal who is ruthless yet salt-of-the-earth, territorial yet would-go-to-any-lengths for his loved ones, has fun yet sticks to the plan and actor Bharath was on our collective minds to pull off such a role.   

 

7. Stockholm - Tapsee 

 

Another one of our choices where we couldn’t but help notice the similarities in both physique and spirit, Taapsee Pannu is our preference to pull off the vulnerable Monica Gaztambide who slowly but surely realizes her potential as the strong Stockholm.

 

 

8. Inspector Raquel Murillo / Lisbon - Simran

 

Negotiation in-charge inspector Raquel Murillo has all the makings of a thief-catcher, yet she ends up as the Dali-sympathetic Lisbon after falling head-over-heals in love. We thought who better than Simran to play the role of this tough-nut who at her core is a mother and daughter first.

 

 

9. Helsinki - Karthi 

 

Karthi’s choice for the role of the man-loving criminal with an intimidating exterior had more to do with his villain get-up in Kaashmora than the natural comparisons.

 

 

10. Palmero - Arvind Swamy 

 

 

Brains on the wrong side is something Arvind Swamy is known for playing and given Palmero’s penchant for emotive outbursts, there is no one better than the Chekka Chivantha Vaanam actor for the role.
