The Hindi remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj directed hit action movie Kaithi was announced officially by the film's producers Dream Warrior Pictures in association with Reliance Entertainmant a while ago. Now, Bollywood media outlets suggest that actor Ajay Devgn will be reprising Karthi's role from the original, which is that of a recently released convict who is trying to meet his daughter for the first time since her birth but gets engulfed in a war between the police and some drug lords. 

It is worth mentioning here that prioir to Debgn, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan were the names being associated with the project but with Devgn, the deal almost is on the verge of finalization. Apparently, Ajay has caught the movie in Tamil and after listening to the narration of its Hindi adaptation, he is keen on moving things forward.
