Karthi recently came out in support of a farming event in Erode district and speaking to the crowd gathered there, the actor is reported to have shown his appreciation for the student community who fight tooth and nail for causes like the Citizenship Amendment Act and appealed to them to apply the same zest for saving farming as well. 

"It is our youth that has recovered Jallikattu. It is our college students who are protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The youth of today must come forward to protect agriculture"

The actor who is said to have spoken at length about the importance of preserving farming cultures is also reported to have opened up about his plans of farming in areas near Chennai.
