Ajith Kumar is all set to begin shooting for Valimai which is scheduled to go on floors on December 13. Valimai marks Ajith's second consecutive collaboration with director H. Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor, after Nekonda Paarvai.  The film is touted to be an action thriller has Ajith Kumar playing the role of a police officer in it.

While speculations are rife that Nayanthara will be playing the leading lady opposite Ajith, the latest reports suggest that Yami Gautham has been approached to play the female lead in Valimai. Yami has earlier acted in Tamil films like Gouravam and Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum. However, the makers are yet to officially announce he film's female lead. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be the music composer for the movie and cinematography will be by Nirav Shah. 

The first schedule of Valimai will be shot at the Ramoji Rao film city in Hyderabad where huge sets have been erected for the shoot. After a month long schedule, the team will then travel across continents for canning high octane action sequences.
